Amber Jewelry Lucky and Beautiful

To decorate yourself with the beauty of Amber Jewelry is believed to be a very good source of luck, this jewel is formed from the resin of trees just like the now extinct conifers that lay in the Petrified Forest National Park.

The resin of these trees became semi fossilized over millions of years to become Copal as it is known in its softer state into fully fossilized and hardened Amber as you know it today.

Amber can be found in many different colours including white, violet, green and red with the white often being found close to the more sought after yellow Amber but the most common you will find to be a brownish honey colour.

Examples have been found to contain insects that have been trapped in the resin when it was sticky and slowly hardened and preserved over time encased in the Amber.

Remember Jurassic Park with the DNA extracted from the stomach of a mosquito that had fed on the blood of a living Dinosaur millions of years ago?

Well its not entirely fiction as scientists have managed to examine DNA from many different species of plants captured in this manner thanks to the preservative qualities of Amber

Amber

Amber was very popular with the Romans who believed the jewel was good for their eyesight.

Good examples of this transparent lucky jewel show off trapped air bubbles inside which only enhance its unique qualities that seem to show off perfectly against a fair complexion.

However there are some drawbacks as Amber will dehydrate if continuous exposure to sunlight is allowed and it is also very soft, so be careful with pieces like Amber Rings and store them seperately as mixing them in your jewelry box with other items will scratch and damage them.

Amber Pendants

Amber Pendants seem to be as popular now as they have ever been, examples discovered in european grave sites date back thousands of years.

Modern technology has also brought imitations such as synthetic resins but you shouldn't need to worry if you use a good reputable jeweler and there are ways to tell the difference.

Above all enjoy your Amber and be Lucky.
